Today I really started to miss the color green.  Funny how gray, cloudy days will do that.  The kids have been sick.  I’ve taken both Lorelei and Eli to the doctor and they both have croup and sinus infections.  Eli also managed to get himself an ear infection.  So, with the exception of going to work, we’ve been stuck inside for the past week with no end in sight.  I can’t wait for warmer weather and the chance to get outside with the kids again!  The upside is that everyone has just been wearing pjs every day so there is minimal laundry.  Gotta love those silver linings!

I may not have much prepared for Christmas, but we did finally get the tree up.  The kids had a great time decorating it.  Eli now runs into the living room every chance he gets and points to the tree and says “whoa”.  He keeps playing with the ornaments but he is doing better than I thought.  Now if I could only keep the cats away from it.

Tonight I called in to check on my family during lunch.  When my husband answered the phone I could hear Lorelei shrieking/sobbing in the background.  She had crashed her bike and was bleeding all over the place.  Fantastic… So, long story short, I left work so that I could take her to the hospital.  Luckily, I got her into the pediatrician (gotta love those extended hours).  He patched up her face and sent us to the American Fork Hospital for an x-ray of her jaw.  He just called and it isn’t broken.  Woot!  Now, I’ve got to admit that a tiny part of my thought “I’m going to get extra time tonight to finish that quilt”.  But, of course, it is now past the time I would normally have gotten home anyway and I haven’t sewn a stitch.  I’m exhausted.  Argh!  I’d best get to quilting.  Here’s a picture of Lorelei with her bandages.  I had to bribe her to get her to smile.  ha!

My daughter Lorelei is seven years old.  She’s been begging to learn to sew so we went to Joann’s  so that she could pick out some fabric for her first project.  She found a cute pink print with owls and Christmas trees.  Apparently I’m not the only one in the house already thinking about Christmas!  We decided to make a pillow.  Isn’t that everyone’s first sewing project?  Here’s a few picks of my gorgeous girl (I’m her mom, I’m allowed to be biased) at work.
